Summary
The Air 2S is an upgrade on the already popular Mavic air 2. It’s most enticing feature is it’s profession 1-inch CMOS Sensor capable of shooting 10 bit video at 5.4k giving you more control when editing and colour grading your footage.
DJI have have labeled the Air 2S as their all in one drone and quite honestly it out performs most other consumer drones in most areas, from quality to battery life to range.
The only reason it lacks a 5 star rating is due to the how the EU laws effect where you will be able to fly this quadcopter with it being a legacy drone. In America however this drone would undoubtedly be a 5 star drone.
Quality
DJI are the industry leaders and are well known for their exceptional quality. The Air 2S is not only a well designed robust machine, but also produces smooth super high quality 5.4k video and photographs.
Portability
The Air 2S with it’s foldable arms is small, light and highly portable. Whether you are traveling abroad or cycling to a local park, at less than 600 grams you can be ensured of hassle free travel. If you invest in the Flymore Combo it comes with a convenient shoulder bag and two extra batteries. Pretty cool for such a high level drone.
Performance
The Air 2S will allow you to capture professional quality video and images with ease. It has a ‘MasterShots’ feature that will automatically take a wide range of shots including orbiting, helixing, moving back and up and straight up of a chosen subject giving you a range of footage to choose from. Other intelligent smart modes such as active track have been upgraded which allows the drone to follow a chosen subject at the push of a few buttons and spotlight mode has been upgraded too.
With a 31 minute maximum battery life it has one of longest flight times of any consumer drones giving you plenty of time to get all the shots you need.
Range
Using the upgraded DJI OcuSync 3.0 the Air 2S can have up to a 12km range in America and 8km outside of America. This is a huge range and far surpasses the legal distances allowed by any country. It is also worth mentioning that the transmission is incredibly clear, which is great for peace of mind.
Value
The Air 2S out performs most of competitors and at £899 is comes in at a lower price than a fair few of them. It is certainly a great value drone.
